Customers of Toronto's PollStream can rest easy this holiday season knowing that their business provides bedkits for needy children around the world.

Toronto, ON, December 14, 2009 - Toronto's PollStream Inc. is proud to continue its support of Sleeping Children Around The World (SCAW) by donating bedkits for children in need in honour of every new customer - and every existing customer - this holiday season.

"No one needs another pen with our company logo on it," says Steven Green, founder and president of PollStream. "We really believe that good business involves being a good corporate citizen and that our continued success should benefit the lives of the less fortunate, if even in a small way."

Since 2005, the social software firm's commitment to social responsibility has led to the purchase of bedkits for children in the Philippine's, Bangladesh, India and several locations throughout Central America.

"Business has the potential to help transform our global society for the better," says Green. "There's no better way to celebrate our ongoing relationship with our customers and members of the PollStream community than continuing our support at home of an organization that helps so many around the world."

Sleeping Children Around the World donations provide bedkits to children of any race and/or religion who will benefit the most; typically being located in underdeveloped and developing countries.

Each $35 donation (Canadian funds) provides a bedkit that consists of a mat or mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net (if applicable), clothes outfit, towel and school supplies. Bedkit contents vary from country to country depending upon local needs. Founded in 1970 by Murray and Margaret Dryden, 2009 saw SCAW distribute its one millionth bedkit.
